Creating Space For Healing And Growth

Growth in Waves Therapy counselor providing virtual therapy in South Carolina and Illinois.

I'm so glad you're here. Starting therapy can feel a little weird at first, and that's okay. You don't have to wait until things are "bad enough" to reach out. Some people come to therapy with a specific concern. Others just know something doesn’t feel quite right. Either way, that’s enough to get started.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and practical. I won't just sit quietly and nod. I ask questions, offer perspective, help you recognize patterns, and introduce tools that fit your goals and your life. Therapy should feel like a conversation where you can be honest, challenged when it's helpful, and supported every step of the way.

One of the things I value most about therapy is the opportunity to truly understand each person's story. No two experiences are the same, which is why I believe therapy should never be “one size fits all”. We'll explore what's been getting in the way, build on what's already working, and help you move toward where you want to be.

I chose the name Growth In Waves Therapy because it reflects something I believe to be true: growth doesn't happen in a straight line. There are ups and downs, moments that feel easier than others, and times when progress can be hard to see. Even then, change is often happening one wave at a time.

It would be an honor to be part of your journey.

Hi, I’m Gina

My Professional Training & Background

I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC - License #180012580) in Illinois and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC - License #10947) in South Carolina.

With more than 13 years of experience as a therapist, my clinical work focuses on perinatal and postpartum mental health, parenthood, grief, and trauma. I support clients through pregnancy, postpartum, and the transition to parenthood, including the emotional changes and challenges that can come with becoming a parent. This may include anxiety, overwhelm, identity shifts, difficult or traumatic experiences, and grief when pregnancy, birth, postpartum, or parenthood looks different than expected.

I also have extensive experience supporting people through grief, loss, and trauma across different stages of life. I’m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and have completed advanced training in grief and loss. I'm also currently pursuing the Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International (PSI). I believe in combining evidence based practices with care that's tailored to each person's unique experiences, strengths, and goals.

My undergraduate degree in Psychology is from Roosevelt University and my masters degree in Clinical Psychology (Counseling Practice) is from Roosevelt University.

At the end of the day, therapy isn't about following a script. It's about finding what works best for you.
